it aint over till it's over.

So, since it's Valentines long weekend; and there are hearts all over the world tonight. I suppose since this IS my blog, I pour out mine.

This long weekend has been a bitch for me somewhat. It's got me thinking...
Family. School. Friends. Significant other.. etc. *sigh* I don't know what's gotten into me. But whatever it is; it's working. I've come to realize that acceptance is the best thing you can ever give to a person, and to yourself.
And I'm not gonna lie; I, myself isn't the "best" person at learning to accept things. I guess, I'm not use to change or accepting that everything happen for a reason. That's something I need to work on. Acceptance.
Not that I don't accept A LOT of things. I mean, I accept things. But some thing..yeah.. Just recently I lost a friend to a situation to do with her boyfriend. Yeah, dumb ? Yes Stephanie. Very.
I talked to my parents about it (btw, fuck you kids who think it's gay being able to talk to your parents), and they lectured me about the situation until 1:48AM. Oh gosh. Basically they told me, "You shouldn't be the one to control who she loves and who she can't love. It's not your decision. Instead, you should be happy for her and regardless of you liking him or not, the best thing you can give her is your support and acceptance. If she's happy, be happy for her." I think that statement said all. I may have rolled my eyes and tried to close my ears half the time they lectured me, but it was hard not to, and I ended up listening. My mom tells me there's a huge difference between something you want and something you need - in this situation, it's definetly not something I need; more like something I want. I guess shes right about that. *sigh* Oh my parents. I've got a lot to learn, and fix. Let's just hope all goes well.
